By Friday the 23rd we were behind and out of time. I took Terri by the shoulders and said, “We have to go”. We put everything we possibly could in the car and hit the road… Just in time for the snow. Made it to Pennsylvania and slept in a Walmart parking lot for a couple hours. The trailer was killing us. Overloaded and wobbly, it was hard to get over 55 mph. The whole way.

Saturday was better. We made good time and got a hotel at dusk. I slept for 4 hours and we hit the road again. Sunday was when it all came together and we made it almost 1,000 miles in a single day… With 2 kids and a cat! Though I will say, the kids did very well with being the car for so long. I was impressed. Got a hotel again Sunday night. Hit the road fresh Monday morning and had time to stop in Eagle, CO at a diner for breakfast. Pulled in to our new home for the next 4 months at exactly 10:30am! We all made it! I really thought I’d be messing with the tarp on the trailer the whole time, but a role of duct tape saved the day. Luckily the entire trip was pretty uneventful.
